GPT-Lab is pleased to announce that a paper authored by Toufique Hasan, Doctoral Researcher at Tampere University, has been accepted for presentation at the 51st Euromicro Conference Series on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications (SEAA 2025). The conference will take place in Salerno, Italy, from 10–12 September 2025.
Title: Engineering RAG Systems for Real-World Applications: Design, Development, and Evaluation
Conference Website: https://dsd-seaa.com/seaa2025
The paper presents the design, implementation, and empirical evaluation of five domain-specific Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems tailored for real-world deployment. The systems address challenges in:
Municipal governance
Cybersecurity
Agriculture
Industrial engineering research
Clinical diagnostics
By focusing on applied settings, the research contributes to an emerging body of work on engineering practices for LLM-integrated software systems. It outlines design considerations, integration workflows, and performance metrics relevant to practitioners and researchers alike.
SEAA 2025 received a record number of 177 submissions this year, with 62 full papers accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of approximately 40%.
Hasan will present the paper in Salerno this September. The work is part of GPT-Lab’s ongoing efforts to investigate the intersection of generative AI and software engineering in societally relevant contexts.
