GPT-Lab joins MAISA kick-off as key partner

GPT-Lab (Tampere University) is participating as one of the key partners in the Managed AI-powered Software Innovations (MAISA) project, which began with a two-day kick-off meeting in Tampere on August 18–19, 2025.

MAISA is a two-year collaboration that brings together universities, companies, and networks to explore new ways of creating and managing AI-powered software. The project focuses on three main objectives:

  • Improving efficiency in software development by introducing AI into critical processes.

  • Strengthening trust in AI systems by advancing assurance, validation, and reliability practices.

  • Developing tailored AI solutions by leveraging the expertise and domain knowledge of the partners.

During the kick-off, all partners outlined their competencies, requirements, and potential contributions. The discussions are aimed at defining roles, work packages, and concrete areas for collaboration moving forward.

Alongside GPT-Lab, the MAISA consortium includes:

  • Demola Global

  • DIMECC Oy

  • Eficode

  • Koivu Solutions Oy

  • Liana Technologies

  • LUT University

  • Netum

  • Q4US

  • Tietoevry

  • University of Oulu

The project work will proceed in sprints of approximately three months, ensuring steady progress toward shared goals.
