ECTS & Certificate Instructions for GAISE 2026

Overview

It is possible to gain academic credit through participation in GAISE 2026, as the summer school offers ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits. These credits are optional and participants can choose whether or not to pursue them—attendance at the summer school does not require applying for ECTS.

Participants may obtain:

  • 1 ECTS for active participation in the full duration of the summer school.

  • 3 ECTS for participation plus the successful completion of both pre- and post-assignments.

Requirements for 3 ECTS

To qualify for the full 3 ECTS credits, the following components must be completed:

1. Pre-Assignment (1 credit)

Detailed reading materials and submission instructions will be provided later in spring 2026.

2. Active Participation during GAISE 2026 (1 credit)

Participants must attend and actively engage in all relevant summer school sessions, including designated collaborative activities related to ECTS credit accumulation. Details of these activities will be shared during the event.

3. Post-Assignment (1 credit)

PLEASE NOTE: It is possible to submit or update your ECTS credit application for GAISE 2026 using the official submission form.
Participants may apply for 1 to 3 ECTS credits by submitting the required assignments. Even if you have already submitted your pre-assignment earlier, you must upload it again through the form for your application to be considered complete.

Certification and Academic Records

  • All participants who attend the summer school will receive a Certificate of Participation issued by GPT-Lab.

  • Participants who fulfil the requirements for ECTS will receive a Certificate of Participation stating the number of ECTS they have earned by August 2026. It is the responsibility of the participants to confirm with their home institution how these credits may be transferred into their study plan or reflected in their own Transcript of Records.

Important Note

If you plan to transfer the ECTS credits to your degree programme at your home institution, it is your responsibility to verify credit transfer policies and procedures with your university’s academic or administrative staff prior to registration.
