Workshop description

Discover how AI can revolutionize Agile Software Development in our dynamic workshop at XP2025. The day begins with an inspiring keynote from a renowned AI expert, setting the stage for a collaborative exploration of the intersection of AI and Agile.

Through four interconnected sessions, participants will dive deep into the challenges and opportunities of integrating AI into Agile practices. The workshop opens with a Retrospective session, where industry leaders and academic researchers will share insights into the frustrations and obstacles they’ve faced. This is followed by the Review session, featuring short research paper presentations and lightning talks that highlight successful real-world applications of AI in Agile.

As the day progresses, the Ideation session sparks creativity and innovation, encouraging participants to envision bold new approaches inspired by cutting-edge research. The workshop culminates in the Collaborative Research Roadmap Development session, where attendees will work together to outline a visionary framework for the future of AI and Agile, producing a research paper as a key outcome.

Call for papers

Workshop Sessions

The workshop is structured into four dynamic sessions, each designed to bridge the gap between frustration and actionable innovation:

  • Retrospective: Engage in an interactive session with industry leaders and academic researchers to uncover pain points and challenges in AI integration within Agile workflows.

  • Review: Discover real-world applications and experiences through short research paper presentations and industrial talks that showcase practical successes and use cases of AI in Agile software development.

  • Ideation: Be inspired by cutting-edge research showcases or presentations of emerging industrial use cases and collaborate to brainstorm innovative ideas for the future of AI-enhanced Agile practices.

  • Collaborative Research Roadmap Development: Work with peers to co-create a visionary research roadmap that outlines future opportunities for AI and Agile integration.

Topics of Interest

The workshop will cover themes including (but not limited to):

  • AI-driven real-time task execution in Agile

  • Multi-agent systems in software development

  • Real-time requirements generation and prioritization using AI

  • Task automation and AI-assisted backlog management

  • AI-driven continuous integration and delivery in Agile

  • Ethical considerations in AI-enhanced Agile environments

  • Interactive coding, testing, and deployment within meeting sessions

Submission Guidelines

We invite participants to submit the following formats:

  • Research Papers: Up to 8 pages

  • Presentations: Maximum 15 minutes, including discussion

Submission Requirements:

  • Submissions must align with the workshop’s themes, offering novel research, practical case studies, industry experiences, or visionary ideas.

  • All submissions will undergo peer review.

  • Submissions must adhere to the LNBIP formatting and submission guidelines.

  • Submit via EasyChair by March 1, 2025.

  • Accepted submissions require at least one author to attend the workshop in person.

Post-Workshop Outcomes
  • Accepted papers and a summary of the workshop’s outcomes, including the research roadmap, will be included in the XP2025 post-conference proceedings (tentatively published in August 2025).

  • A detailed article summarizing discussions and key moments, along with photos, will be shared on the workshop website and social platforms.
